 Utility Box

Electrical panel

Electrical panel

We used a 125-amp GE electrical panel for the house. All the wiring is 12 gauge, except for the lighting, which is 14 gauge. The water heater had its own wiring, which we connected to a 60-amp breaker. The kitchen and bathroom have GFI outlets. The exterior outlet on the front of the house for the ClimateRight unit is on its own breaker.

Unicorn

Unicorn

The unicorn, a pure-white horned horse. It is a monstrous thing to kill a unicorn. The blood of a unicorn will keep you alive, even if you ae an inch from death, but at a terrible price.

Niffler

Niffler

Nifflers, Nifflers, everywhere!

Golden Dragon Egg

Golden Dragon Egg

An absolute necessity. The golden dragon egg is a must-have to complete the 2nd Tri-wizard task.

Large blue light-up Dragon

Large blue light-up Dragon

This large blue dragon lights up, and certainly looks like the dad to the smaller dragons in the den.

Young Dragon

Young Dragon

This soft blue dragon looked like he should be the offspring of the large blue dragon!

Hagrid delivering baby Dragons.

Hagrid delivering baby Dragons.

This mini Hagrid wearing the cute oven mitts came with the miniature dragon shown beside him.

Golden Egg Socks

Golden Egg Socks

The utility box wouldn't be complete without socks for the house elves. We were thrilled to find these Golden Egg footies at Hot Topic.

Buckbeak

Buckbeak

This plush Buckbeak (or maybe Witherwings?) from Barnes & Noble has the most engaging look on his face!

Aragog

Aragog

Shopping around Halloween paid off again with this large spider, which we hung from the top of the box. We couldn't have found a better Aragog.

Hogwarts Owlery

Hogwarts Owlery

The utility box on the back of the Hogwarts Inn Express houses the electrical panel, water heater and incoming water. We dressed up the water heater/plumbing side by creating an owlery, complete with a variety of owls, and a plain metal postal box painted and decorated in bright red. Inside the box is a letter to the new owners with a message about Horcruxes and Hallows.

Owl Post

Owl Post

We found a raw metal box that looked perfect for a Muggle post box. We just added paint and a letter for the new owners.

Utility Box

Utility Box

The utility box outside houses the electrical panel and the water heater. We wanted to dress it up a bit, so we created the Forbidden Forest and a Dragon's den on one side, and an Owlery on the other. The forest curtain hides the panel on the left, and velcro'd black material covers the incoming pipes for the plumbing on the right side. There is also an outlet and a light in the box.

Forbidden Forst and Dragon's Den

Forbidden Forst and Dragon's Den

These spaces have been decorated just for a bit of whimsy, and to make the utility box more attractive. Since several of the decor items are licensed Harry Potter collectibles, the new owner will most likely remove some of these and place them inside the house.

Two caged owls

Two caged owls

This cage had just the old-fashioned look we wanted for the owlery, and the tiny owls had these really quirky looks, a great combination. Maybe Pigwidgin.

Ornament owl

Ornament owl

We loved this ornament owl, and wanted a variety of owls in the space.

Thestral

Thestral

This thestral is one of our favorite Funkos.

Potions for Utility Box

Potions for Utility Box

We took some empty bottles and jars, and added a variety of ingredients and labels to create a few potions bottles.

Marey Eco11 on demond water heater

Marey Eco11 on demond water heater

For the hot water, we included an on demand ECO11 system. It is quite small and lightweight, but strong enough to heat water for a shower and sink simultaneously.
